Nonino Grappa Tradizione

NV

In a Nutshell

A classic unaged Grappa.

Tasting Notes

Typical and elegant. Fresh and soft with typical crusty bread aromas and a touch of liquorice. The palate is spicy and fresh with a long, peppery finish. Before tasting, Grappa should be allowed to rest in the glass for some minutes: on exposure to oxygen the perfumes are enhanced and the nose/palate harmony is perfected.

Production Notes

The pomace of a mixture of red and white grapes is fermented and then immediately batch distilled to prevent any harmful secondary fermentation. The distillation happens very slowly to allow the volatile components, responsible for the perfumes, a proper evaporation period and subsequent condensation, in order to keep intact the precious organoleptic characteristics of the fresh pomace. The finished product is then matured for six months in stainless steel to retain freshness.

Producer - Nonino

The Nonino family has devoted itself to the art of artisanal distillation since 1897. Forty years ago the Noninos created the single varietal Grappa Nonino Monovitigno®, by distilling the pomace of the Picolit grape on its own and turned Grappa from Cinderella into a Queen of distillates!
