Classic Tuscan red with richness, structure and elegance
A ripe, full flavoured wine with powerful, spicy characters. The nose has rich red and black fruit, with well-integrated spicy oak aromas. The palate has ripe red fruit with plum and cherry flavours and touches of liquorice. The finish is warm and full flavoured with firm, ripe tannins.
The grapes are gently pressed, and the fermented with selected yeasts at a temperature of 22C for 20 days, followed by a long maceration on the skin. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 2 years.
The Baroncini family have over five centuries of wine-making history. Today, overseen by Bruna Baroncini, the company produces authentic classics from Tuscany, including the Podere Torre Terza estate in San Gimignano and Fattoria Querciarossa in Maremma. They also source the Il Faggeto wines from Montepulciano.
