This offers hints of lychees, a dash of northern acidity in a pleasurable, easy drinking summery style. Would be a great match for shellfish. 86 points

Carla Capalbo, Decanter Magazine Italy Supplement, Feb 2016

There's quite a bit of ordinary Grillo out there, but in the right conditions this native Sicilian grape, historically used for the fortified wines of Marsala, can make distinctively delicious dry whites. This example from the Rallo family of Donnafugata shows how it should be done: unoaked to allow the exotic fruit, herbs and burst of citrus to shine through, it nonetheless has lots of succulent mid-palate weight which as well as making it delicious on its own, also means it would pair up nicely with white meat and fish.
