Wine Club: Award Winners
Wine Club: Award Winners
In this series we'll be tasting a selection of award winners from one of this year's competitions. Over a period of six weeks we'll be tasting six wines that won at least one medal at a recent competition. Your job will be to guess which wine won which medal - will you agree with the judges?!
We'll be taking a look at how judges score wines and of course we'll be presenting an in-depth exploration of the wines and where they come from.
How does it work?
Our wine club has been running since May 2020 and meets every Wednesday evening at 6pm over Zoom. Each week we taste one wine together and Cat will run through an introduction to the grape variety(ies) and style.
There is then plenty of opportunity to ask questions - whatever is on your mind. Cat can’t promise to be able to answer the deeper meaning of life but she’s pretty good at most things wine.
If you like wine and want to know a bit more, these tastings are for you – they’re relaxed, informal and fun. The tasting lasts about half an hour giving you time to then head off and prepare some dinner to enjoy with the rest of your wine, though many of the group stick around for a second glass and a bit of a chat.
How do I join?
You can sign up for the full six weeks before the series starts, or once a series is underway you can join us for a week by buying that week's bottle. Just leave us your email address and we'll send over details to join our Zoom tasting at 6pm on Wednesday.

16th October - Central Italian Red
23rd October - New Zealand White
30th October - North Italian Red

What is the format of the tasting?
Our wine tastings last about 90 minutes. In summer we often sit outside but in cold/bad weather we use our upstairs tasting room. During our guided tasting you’ll sample six different wines and we’ll give you all the information you need to wow your guests at your next dinner party!
We provide some cheese to nibble on during the tasting – please advise us of any allergies or intolerances when you book your tickets so that we can accommodate you.
Can I bring children?
Sorry, we do not allow any under 18s at any of our events, this includes babes-in-arms. We may require proof of age from both purchaser and attendee of our events.
Do I need to know a lot about wine?
Our wine tastings are a fun, relaxed way to taste and learn a bit more about wine. No snobbery, just fellow wine lovers enjoying a good glass or three!
No prior knowledge is required, just a desire to try something new.
Is it refundable if I can't make it?
We will refund tickets up to a week before the event. After this time, up until 36 hours before the event we will allow you to transfer your ticket to another event at the same price.
Sorry, but within 36 hours of the event we have incurred costs and we cannot issue a refund or transfer your ticket.
