In a Nutshell
Born in 1982 as a selection from the part of the Martinenga vineyard facing Asili, Gaiun is produced only in the best vintages.
Tasting Notes
A brilliant garnet red colour with orange hues. The nose is quite pronounced with jammy fruit, sweet tobaco and white chocolate. This is a full, elegant wine with a long, rich finish.
Production Notes
Vinification on skins- 8/10 days fermentation with floating cap followed by 5/10 days fermentation with submerged cap. Daily pumping over. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in full at a contolled temperature after the alcoholic one. Aged in French Allier barriqes for 30 months, followed by a maturation in bottle for at least 10 months.
