Massolino Moscato d’Asti DOCG

2019

In a Nutshell

Moscato d’Asti is a light, aromatic, sweet and sparkling wine typical of the Langhe.

Tasting Notes

In the glass, this wine is bright yellow with a fine and long lasting mousse. It opens with fresh and intense grape aromas, accompanied by notes of sage. On the palate, it has a refreshing acidity to balance the natural sweetness of this wine. The typical aroma of Moscato grapes dominates the palate, and it has a very long and delicious finish.

Production Notes

The grapes were hand harvested, and softly pressed on arrival at the winery. The juice was pumped into temperature-controlled, stainless-steel pressurised tanks. Fermentation took place at 15°C to preserve the flavour and aromas of the Moscato grapes. Fermentation was stopped by chilling the tank to 0°C when the wine reached 5% ABV, resulting in a gently sparkling wine with a high level of residual sugar.

Press Quotes & Awards

This is really well done with sliced green-melon and sweet spiced-apple character. It’s lightly sweet and not cloying. Medium to light body. Light bubbles. Beautiful fruit. Bright and focused. Textbook, well made moscato. 92 points
