Mazzei Poggio Badiola Toscana IGT

2018

In a Nutshell

Pocket-friendly Supertuscan from outstanding producer Mazzei.

Tasting Notes

Attractive ruby red in colour, with lifted perfumes of plum, damson and an appetising spicy character. The palate is full of lovely red berry fruit flavours with smooth, integrated tannins combining the finesse of Sangiovese with the structure and the smooth qualities of Merlot blended seamlessly with the gingery spice of the dash of Petit Verdot.

Production Notes

Hand picked from September 12th (Sangiovese), from August 25th (Merlot and Petit Verdot). Fermented at 26 – 28 °C with a maceration period of 12 – 15 days. Aged in American small oak barrels (225 lt) for 10 months.
