Miglianico

In 1961, in order to help local farmers compete with the biggest wineries in Abruzzo, Don Vincenzo Pizzica formed a co-operative in the small village of Miglianico. Here in 1966, in the foothills of the Appennines, these farmers produced their first bottles. Today they number three hundred and collectively farm five hundred hectares of prime Abruzzese vines, focusing as they have always done on the region’s signature grapes.
