Production Notes
Production Notes
The Turbiana grapes are sourced from vineyard between Sirmione and the resort town of Peschiera del Garda (at the southern tip of Lake Garda), in the tiny region of Lugana - this straddles the border between Lombardy and Veneto. The Guyot-trained vines grow in sandy-clay soils. After hand-harvesting the grapes are cooled before crushing, then are left in a cold soak in the press for 10 hours. After settling, the juice is fermented at 15° Celsius in stainless steel with selected yeasts. The wine rests on fine lees for 6 months, with occasional batonnage.

Producer Information
The illustrious Montresor family moved from France to Italy at the start of the 19th Century, and settled in the Veneto region near Lake Garda. In 1892 Cantina Giacomo Montresor was established in Verona, and remains family-owned to this day.
Giorgio Montresor produces a portfolio of wines which increasingly rival the offerings of the region's more fashionable names - harnessing modern technology to craft the best wines from each site, across their 100ha of vineyard, in Valpolicella and Garda.
